Division of Systems Research, Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability, Nagoya University invites applications for a faculty position at Professor Level.
Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS) has been designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as a “Joint Usage / Research Center of materials and systems for innovative energy management” and promotes researches mainly on energy-saving technologies.
With efforts on both global and regional levels, the Division of Systems Research (DS) develops key technologies relating to energy conversion, infrastructures and their networks as well as material conversion and its circulation, that enable ecologically sustainable development. The DS also strives to establish methodologies for realizing the social implementation of such advanced networks. In order to achieve these goals, the Division develops advanced energy conversion technologies and systems, technologies that reduce environmental load and contributes toward resource and energy conservation, and recycling technologies and circulation systems of renewal planning, creating energy-infrastructure control technologies as well as conducting leading-edge research on energy, information and distribution relating to the advanced information network technologies.
Research Project Theme
Toward establishing a sustainable and sound resource-recycling society, research and development of energy-saving and sustainable technologies are required. Therefore, we are currently seeking a researcher who will work to achieve the R&D project theme on novel materials for energy-saving devices, thermo-fluid technologies for highly-efficient advanced energy conversion systems, energy-saving technologies for reducing environmental impacts, planning and control of energy infrastructures, based on engineering science for sustainable society. The candidates are also expected to collaborate with the Undergraduate Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Graduate Department of Aerospace Engineering, on both research and educational activities.

Division of Materials Research, Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability, Nagoya University invites applications for a faculty position at Professor Level.
Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS) has been designated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as a “Joint Usage / Research Center of materials and systems for innovative energy management”, and promotes researches mainly on energy-saving technologies. The institute will also lead the collaborative project by six university research institutes (Nagoya University, Osaka University, Tohoku University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Waseda University, Tokyo Medical and Dental University) to create “life innovation materials” and cultivate a new academic field incorporating various other fields while serving as a new societal foundation.
In order to contribute to such research activities, the Division of Materials Research promotes R&D on various materials and substances; properties, productions process, structural control, evaluation of performance and application, advanced development to achieve incorporation into devices as well as the designing of devices. The division promotes researches not only on improvement of industrial materials, utilization of resources and optimization of energy sources, but also on novel materials and nanomaterials for future energy systems, energy-saving devices and advanced materials systems.
Research Project Theme

Therefore we are currently seeking a researcher who will work to achieve the R&D project theme on creation, analyses, development of high-performance materials in the field of inorganic materials chemistry, materials engineering and advanced functional materials science. The candidates are also expected to work on interdisciplinary researches with other academic or industrial research groups within and outside Japan, and especially on the collaborative project between other research institutes to create “life innovation materials”.

Therefore we are seeking researchers who will work to achieve the R&D project theme on creation, analyses, development of advanced high-performance functional materials.
This time, we are seeking a researcher who will work to develop the advanced monochromator with synchrotron light, the evaluation technology, and drive forward the research project of the advanced spectroscopies of X-Ray and photoelectron measurements.
